2024 2nd Runner Up Huawei Innovation ICT Competition
June 20, 2025 | Milestone
On November 30, 2024 we received another incredible opportunity—to represent all of STI Colleges in the 2024 Huawei ICT Competition.
We were honored, but we also knew we had to come up with something meaningful. Something personal. And at that moment, I could think of no better inspiration than my grandmother.
The Heart Behind the Idea
At the time, my lola was battling dementia.
Watching someone you love struggle with memory loss is heartbreaking. I wanted to build something that could help—not just her, but others going through the same thing.
That's when we came up with Memoir.
What Is Memoir?
Memoir is a simple, game-based application designed for people with dementia. It uses memory games to stimulate brain activity—and here's the twist:
With the help of AI, Memoir automatically adjusts the game's difficulty based on the user's performance.
This way, patients don't get overwhelmed or bored—they get a personalized experience, suited to their current cognitive level.
Our goal was to create a tool that encourages mental exercise, supports families, and gives hope to those fighting cognitive decline.
The Result: We Won
We submitted Memoir to the competition, and by God's grace, we were awarded 2nd Runner-Up!
We brought home gadgets, medals, and a trophy—but more than that, we left with joy in our hearts, knowing we built something that could actually make a difference.
Final Thoughts
This wasn't just about tech. It wasn't just about winning.
It was about using what we know, what we've learned, and what we've lived through—to create something personal, purposeful, and powerful.
To my teammates—thank you for trusting this vision.
To Huawei—thank you for the platform.
And to my Lola—this one's for you.
